5 Packing Tips for Your Next Trip

While you can outsource all the planning and booking of your vacation to your favorite Travel Pro, there's one part you will have to tackle on your own... packing.🧳

Sometimes packing for a trip can feel overwhelming, especially when it's a big family vacation.

You want to make sure that you have everything you need, but you also don’t want to overpack and have to deal with a suitcase that is too heavy to lift or that you can't fit any souvenirs into!

So here are 5 tips to help make packing a little easier:

👟 Limit the shoes
They take up a lot of real estate in your bag and add weight. Try to keep it to no more than 3 pairs. Grab either boots for cool weather or a comfy sandal for hot destinations. Then either a cute heel or flat that works with any outfit for dinner. The last pair is your MUST-HAVE, a great pair of walking shoes.

🎒 Pack an empty bag
Fold down an empty duffle or tote into the bottom of your bag. Then you'll have extra space for the trip home. Either fill it with all the memorable new items you picked up in your destination or simply enjoy not having to pack so tight for your return. You can easily check it for the flight home.

👕 Put young kid's clothes in individual baggies organized by day. This makes outfit planning for kids a breeze, and gives them a little independence to dress themselves without meltdowns on what they want to wear. Top, bottoms, underwear, socks all in one baggie. Plus some extra bags with special clothes like dresses for dinner, etc.

🗞️ Roll it Up

Whether you're using packing cubes or just organizing everything right in your suitcase, if you are struggling with space, roll your clothes! Fold your shirts/pants in half and then roll them fairly tightly. This makes it really easy for your clothes to take up even the smallest crevices in your suitcase, instead of flatly sitting on top of open space.

💡Take a travel steamer

I'm one of those crazy people who can't stand wearing wrinkled clothes 🫠, so we always pack a travel size steamer. That way, no matter how wrinkled our clothing gets in a packed suitcase we can easily steam it away without having to get out the hotel ironing board. We've had this one for a while and it's done great!

Packing doesn’t have to be complicated, and I hope these tips help make prepping for your next vacation a little easier!
